The Power of Art in Branding

The Power of Art in Branding

As I sit here at a cafe in a small city in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, after a dreary morning spent wandering around Asheville’s River Arts District, I can’t help but wonder at the magic of art. After wandering some of the hundreds of artist studios here looking at all the art both inside, and outside in the form of murals and graffiti, I sit here thinking about the power that art holds – grabbing my attention, making me feel, and influencing my thoughts.

At its best, art catches your eye, uniquely portraying additional information, telling a story, or just being delightful to look at. Art makes us feel something – sometimes it makes us feel happy, sometimes it’s provocative or angering, or it makes it feel desire for what it is, or consider something we never have before. At its worst, it does nothing more than catch your eye, while you move on with one more image in your head.

In today’s world, with all of the competition and beautiful brands we see every day on the internet, chances are that your brand could use, and may even need custom artwork to take it to the next level. Here’s why you might want to consider custom art or illustration to attract more customers to your business.

Custom artwork will bring your business… more business!

In a day and age where photos are used everywhere, using a slightly more unique approach to some of your brand visuals can help cut through the noise of your industry and leave a positive, lasting first impression on your potential customers. When you use visuals within your branding and marketing, your customers (or potential customers) are five times more likely to remember your brand. The more customers who remember your brand, the more people that are out there talking about your brand, buying from you, and bringing in more new customers.

While copy is incredibly important, it’s visuals that initially catch people’s attention and draws them in. This is why visual advertising is so popular, and why visually engaging ads sell more. While I don’t recommend forgoing photography all together, using custom artwork and copy together can not only clarify your brand’s message, but also make your products and business stand-out in a crowded market, and better connect with and engage your audience.

Custom Artwork Will Clarify Your Brand Message

Our brains process visuals much faster than text. If your business has a story or a message that you want your customers to understand better, art can tell that story in a quicker and more engaging way than just copy. Visual messaging stands out in people’s minds, which is why artwork makes it easier for people to understand and remember your brand message. What better way to share your brand message with potential customers than with beautiful and engaging artwork that draws people in to learn more about what your business is offering?

Custom Art Will Give You An Edge Over Competitors

You already know by now that artwork will help to clearly communicate your brand’s message to those who are looking for what you’re offering, as well as make your brand more memorable, and help your brand stand-out among your competitors, giving you an edge. Here’s why:

Custom artwork will also give your business a completely unique approach to a crowded market. Think about the last few things that you spent money on – why did you buy that product or service? I buy most things because I either fully believe in the brand’s message and purpose (communicated clearly to me via both copy and visuals), or because I am drawn to the beauty and experience of the design. When images fail, or have been overused in either your branding or the market, unique and beautiful artwork will elevate your product and the experience your customer’s have with it and with your brand, while also standing out in their mind above other brands and products.

Whether this is good or bad, humans are naturally wired to equate beauty with quality. Custom art is a great way to elevate your business and make it more attractive to the people that you’re trying to attract. Not only this, but it can also help your audience and potential customers understand your message and trust your business more.

Art makes people stop and pay attention, because we love beautiful things, simply for their beauty. So, if you’re looking for a new and unique way to stand out, consider adding custom artwork to your product designs, creative content, and marketing campaigns to stop people in their tracks, making them pay attention to your message and how you can help them. Bring a little more beauty and joy into their day, and into this world, because why not.

So if you want to get noticed in a crowded marketplace, clarify your brand message, and attract your dream customers by incorporating custom art into your brand, you know who to call.
