We set out to build a brand worthy of being passed down. The founders, with backgrounds spanning Harvard, Google, and leading fashion brands including Diane von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, and Warby Parker, had already built a product worthy of that vision: handcrafted children's linens adorned with botanical illustrations and produced to GOTS and OEKO-TEX standards long before sustainability became a market differentiator. The challenge was that the brand experience hadn't yet caught up to the quality of the product itself.


I. the opportunity

Timo & Violet had the craftsmanship of a heritage brand but the presence of a small startup. Their handcrafted children's linens featured intricate watercolor chinoiserie illustrations of peacocks, monkeys, and tropical flora, artwork rich in detail, beauty, and craftsmanship. Yet without a cohesive brand system to support it, the value of the product wasn't being communicated. The linens themselves felt timeless; the brand had yet to reflect that same sense of distinction.

The challenge was creating a reason for parents to choose, and remember, Timo & Violet. Not just for a season, but for years. The kind of brand whose pieces are passed down, displayed, and treasured.

To achieve that, we designed for longevity. Every element from color and typography to pattern and packaging was built to express the same sense of craftsmanship, permanence, and care found in the products themselves.

II. Brand Evolution

The work began with a simple belief: the illustrations weren't decoration—they were the heart of the brand. Every design decision was made to support and elevate them.

The products already embodied a clear philosophy: artistry, nature, wonder, and longevity. We translated those qualities into a cohesive brand identity, positioning Timo & Violet as a modern heirloom brand inspired by timeless craftsmanship and the natural world.

Drawing colors directly from the artwork, we created a visual system that felt inseparable from the products themselves. The website followed the same principle, using spacious layouts, illustration-forward design, and thoughtful storytelling to create a slower, more immersive shopping experience.

III. Results

Timo & Violet launched with a brand system that gave the brand a voice that matched the quality of the product and gave the founders the language and visuals to speak consistently as they grow.
