Luna Lashes
Founded by owner Sheryl Medina, with a studio location Manhattan, NYC, Luna Lashes is known for their sophisticated style and unequivocal quality of service and product.
Our vision was to elevate their current branding and create a website that highlighted their products, and reflected their confidence and style to create a visually beautiful e-commerce experience that communicated the quality of the their lash product in a digital space.
Initially inspired by the moon, founder Sheryl Medina took her fascination with the study of Astronomy, and her background in makeup artistry, to create a line of lashes influenced by each planet’s unique appearance – the texture, durability and style each lash holds, the planets equally represent.
From the beginning, we wanted to make sure that the identity for Luna Lashes reflected this initial inspiration, while focusing on creating simple yet sophisticated design solutions that also reflected the quality of the product.
Luna Lashes already had an established logo used throughout their product-packaging, so the owner requested that we keep the current logo and instead just refine it. We took it from a rounded, old-school Hollywood typeface and created a more modern and clean logo that would be recognizable on their product packaging but in line with the quality of their new brand.
Aiming to reflect their brand values – quality, empowerment, integrity and exclusivity – in the branding, we ended with a clean, stylized, bold aesthetic.
We created a bold contrast of light and dark, black and white, to echo the night sky and the light of the moon and stars. Combined with natural textures and a neutral color palette, the end result is a minimal aesthetic that is both sophisticated and confident.
Balancing the white space with large typography, and the bold contrast of color, we established a sense of confidence and honest belief in the quality of product. Softening the overall website experience with subtle animation and delicate imagery to create a user experience that is both simple, yet interesting and elegant.
